Amelia is an award-winning, narrative feature writer. She focuses on well-told, long-form stories with a social significance. Her work has appeared in Pearson Education's creative writing textbook, "The Curious Writer." In 2016, the LA Press Club awarded her first place in investigative journalism for her undercover reporting on the exploitation of smuggled immigrants who are recruited to work in Chinese restaurants.
Amelia received her BA in Literary Studies from the New School. She spends her free time working on a family memoir about her grandfather, a Chinese man who spied for the Soviet Union during the Cold War. From Bolshevik memoirs to leaked Soviet intelligence documents, she is piecing together what is known about his life.
